Almost every gate problem starts at the posts. Gate posts take constant movement and weight, so we size and set them for the gate they are carrying, then hang the gate square on quality hinges with a latch that suits how you actually use it.

For wider driveway and field gates we step up to heavier posts and ironmongery, and can fit drop bolts, slam plates and lockable latches where security matters.

If your gate drags, sticks through the winter or no longer latches, it can often be put right without replacing it. We re-set posts, renew hinges and latches, re-square frames and adjust clearances, alongside our wider fence repairs work.

Where the timber has genuinely gone, we will quote for a new gate built to the same opening, and match it to new garden fencing if the boundary is being replaced at the same time.
